Nice pix gunther! I hope to check my camera today.
JPH, the sad part is, it would not surprise me if those are hanging in your house somewhere!

vipermann7:  I love the capture I have.  We also have 2 wildviews and a moultrie d40.  The d40 we just got and so far it's going good nice pictures and good battery life.  The wildviews are junk in my opinion and I won't buy another one.  The battery life sucks on them and the flash goes out normally in a year.  Trigger speed is also somewhat slow.  The capture has great pictures and battery life is long lasting too.  The trigger speed is the fastest I have seen.  I will only buy cuddebacks now.

Nice pic Goose...How do you like your I40 and how much did it run ya?  I have a D40 and it does the job but am looking for an infrared.

I got it off of ebay for a total of 199 with shipping,a card, batteries, and a remote(which is useless).
I really have no complaints with it, it works fine and the battery life is forever and a day....but the infrared really didn't impress me too much, I did not see a difference between the I40 and a flash with the way deer reacted.
My brother has got a cuddeback and comparing the two I like his pictures a lot better with the flash, and the deer acted no different.....that I could tell anyways.
I bought a capture a week ago and have had it on one of our plots....am impressed so far....the speed is impressive and the pictures are good.It is very basic which is nice and very simple to operate. I paid 199 for that at Fleet.
They switched to sd cards so they are compatible with my moultrie cards which is nice.

No real difference between the flash and no flash as far as deer reaction huh?  Hm.  Maybe it's not worth it.  I guess it can be seen as it depends on the deer and the deer's personality as far as how it reacts.  Who knows.  When I got my D40 last year I used regular D size batteries.  After thinking about it, I thought maybe it'd be best if I went to rechargeables.  Well, that turned out to be a mistake.  It wouldn't hold a charge for nothing...I was actually told thought that I wasn't using the right power as far as size of the rechargeable D.  I was using 2500 mAh, and was told to use 5000.  I can't find them anywhere though.  Anyone have any suggestions as to where I could get them at?  I'm contemplating on buying that 6 or 12 volt battery that you plug in to your camera too.  I think they're about 50 or 60 bones.

Just look at that picture off of the moultrie....that deer knows that camera is there.
I would try ebay for that stuff.

Yeah Goose that deer looks like he knows the camera is there.  I guess that's why I feel the flash doesn't bother them.

I had a major deer invasion this morning about 8:00 A.M. Eleven deer coming across the 50 acres of corn I have behind my house. The wife believes they're on a mission to wipe out our red currant bushes. I grabbed the old Nikon to see if I could get a few pictures. There were at least six bucks in the bunch and two of them had main beams out beyond the ears and brow tines already. They coulda all been bucks for all I know. It's hard to keep up with a bunch moving around that much. I never even got all eleven of em in one picture. A very noisy truck slowed down to turn into the neighbors drive across the road and they all spooked off toward the southeast. Looks like I can maybe bag me a buck without leaving home come this fall (assuming they don't jump in front of a car between now and then).

Wanderer, It does appear you have an issue with buck to doe ratio. I'd be more than happy to help you guard those Red Currant bushes from the trees in the backround.

Fulton County Indiana is in my top 5 for hunting destinations.
