Gun season opened in Louisiana Sat. for my area and to say it's been slow would be the understatement of the year. Seen a few spikes and buttons but have yet to lay eyes on anything remotely close to a shooter. Haven't even seen a good shooter doe! Temps averaging in low 70's during day and low 50's in a.m. with the moon so bright you can walk in and out of your stand sites without a flashlight. Talk to a guy yesterday who hunts nearby and he said he saw 6 bucks under his stand at one time, late one evening. Proves to me they're just not quite ready for the rut yet. Been slow anywhere else?

Hey Burn! Long time - no hear! Yeah personally its been much slow here in Union Parish since bow season opened...acorns falling like rain and rain falling like a cow peeing on a flat rock & the old moon shining through this week. We did take 6 nice bucks this last weekend, 2 of which were mature, but we had a LOT of people hunting to get that many. This coming weekend is supposed to be better though. Hope you're hunt improves! Find some acorns cause they ain't touching corn right now!

Pennsylvania archery season has been slow-at least for me. Granted, the areas where I hunt are marginal anyway, but sightings have been few and far between. Hopefully, things will pick up as the rut kicks in.

Archery season was good, gun season doesn't start in Missouri until 11/14. Youth season was a near record though, so hopeful we will see plenty of action soon. My brother is bowhunting now, he's seeing does, but no bucks.

Well my rifle season for the 2009 season is over and I can't say it was bust but it was awefully slow. I think the standing corn around the property (appx 120acres) hurt us. The four of us got 1 buck opening day appx 11am, was not a big one just a 2.5yr old 10pt. what was so disapointing was just the real lack of deer sightings other than that buck, I was the only other person to see a deer and that was opening day about 4.45pm. Other than that all activity seemed to be at night, scrapes were freshened and lots of tracks. I guess that's why they call it huntin and not killin. On with the bow season I will be out sunday lookin for the rush that happens when a good one walks in Cdn1
